I’m taking a little pause from our Spotlight Series, because I’ve been working on a few Color Consultations that have me digging deep into blue. In these Color Sessions, we’ve discussed an entire blue living room, blue window trim (with scallop detailing to boot!) a blue bookcase wall and brilliant electric blue wainscoting in high gloss. Yum. From Robin’s egg to a navy so deep it’s almost black, you name it, I’m there. Many a blue tug at my heart strings. A serious contender for first place in the rankings is Yves Klein blue. My gosh, it literally makes my hairs stand on end. The extravagance, opulence, sumptuousness of it. The intensity of the pigment… I could go on, but I’ll spare you.
However, despite the brilliance of the color that is formally recognized as ‘International Klein Blue’, I really think that the very best blue there is, and the winner of The Best Blue Award (awarded of course, by me), is the blue of the sky on a crisp, clear, cloudless winter’s day. It simply cannot be beat. It’s holy and redemptive. I have a spiritual connection to it. It’s rigorously soul feeding. Life affirming. Is this getting weird?
The history and psychology of the color blue are fascinating and date back to the ancient Egyptians. We’re here to look at pretty pictures today, but this is a fun read if you want to delve a little deeper.
So, to the pictures! I’m a prolific Pinterest-er and Instagram Save-er and I have folders FULL of blue interiors that I just adore and I feel compelled to share them with you. Each image is linked to the source, so click for more images or info.
If you’re looking to add some color into your home, and would like some guidance, or even a chat to give your the confidence boost to get it done, then look no further. You can schedule Color Sessions or Color Chats with me here. I look forward to hearing from you!
Back next week with a review of my Instagram Dopamine Dressing series. The results have been surprising, and I’m eager to share my findings with you.
Until then!
Wow! Thank you so much for the inspiration and such great and not the usual interiors.
